Located in the territory of Brittoli, on the ridge NW / SE of the Gran Sasso, the take-off is one of the most evocative of the area. It is located at an altitude of about 1350 m.s.l.m. and, unique to the area, a double exposure: East ranging across the valley Pescara, and west, opening up the valley of the Tirino. The take-off to the east is the most used because in the area, given the influence of the Adriatic Sea, the prevailing winds are those from the North-east. With exposure to the east offers the best potential for cross-country flights. From there you leave for the conquest of the Gran Sasso and you can make flights over 100 km. The site does not have an official landing and is recommended only for experienced pilots. Best flights may be conducted in the spring and summer, taking off in the late morning (11:00 to 13:00). Before embarking XC flights are advised to consult the aeronautical charts of the area, because the territory is intersected by commercial routes afferent airport of Pescara.
